POLICY GUIDELINES ON PLAYER REGISTRATION

  • Players register to play in ONE squad at the start of the season or during the course of season. In normal circumstances the registration runs until after the last match of the season for that squad.
  • Once a player has registered for a squad the player is entitled to remain with that squad for the remainder of the season.
  • If during the course of the season the player moves away from the catchment area of the Club then the registration of the player will be released.
  • If during the course of the season the player wishes to leave the squad, the player’s registration is only released with the explicit permission of the player’s manager.
  • Transfer during the course of the season between squads within the Club is not normally permitted and only with the explicit permission of the player’s original squad manager. The manager need have no reason to refuse any transfer request other than the player is registered for his squad. It is recommended that when such a situation arises the two managers involved discuss the request; however the final decision remains the with the player’s original squad manager. The Executive will arbitrate, if requested, to ensure these guidelines have been followed.
  • During the close season (after the last match of the season and prior to 30th June), any player regardless of the squad he played for previously is available to any squad, with the one proviso that no more than three players who played for one squad the previous season can play for another squad during the following season without the explicit agreement of BOTH squad managers.
  • All registrations, release from registrations and squad transfers are subject to the agreement of the Club Executive and will require the League Secretary’s signature on the registration/transfer forms. Providing the above rules have been followed agreement will be given unless the registration, transfer or release is seen as detrimental to the Club as a whole.
