Wilmslow Sports JFC Pumas U14 3 v Ashton on Mersey U14 1
The final game of the season, and the finale for Sir Anthony, Sir Richard and Sir Andrew who could not prise himself from the Bahamas for this dead rubber. Deservedly the Pumas continued their winning run against an unusually physical performance from Ashton on Mersey normally good opponents.
Ashton kicked off and went straight into the lead from a good move.
Soon after this setback the Pumas came back with an equaliser. Captain Jonathan Taylor won the ball in midfield and ran through the Ashton defence and played a one two with Ryan Holmes who played in Jonathan to power a shot through the Ashton keeper. Within seconds the score line was turned on its head when Duncan Watmore ran through Ashton and back heeled to Dominic Moir who found Jonathan Taylor in the box who crossed to Ryan Holmes to turn and scored a beautiful goal.
Thereafter the Pumas pounded the Ashton defence and should have quadrupled their lead from attempts on goal. The Ashton goal led a charmed life when blocks from attempts by Ryan Holmes, Duncan Watmore, Jonathan Taylor and Joe Bishop were all remarkably kept out.
At the other end Oisin O'Malley continuously blocked and tackled Ashton forwards and kept his head against severe provocation from the bigger Ashton forwards.
In the second half the Pumas again took the initiative when Oisin O'Malley punted a ball up to Finan Holt who tried to chip the keeper but the lob was caught.
Eventually the Pumas increased their lead when Ethan Harding found Jonathan Taylor to pass on to the striker Ryan Holmes to put the ball past the keeper for number three.
As this was also the final game for Christian Dibble he was replaced in goal by Rohan Longmore and was sent up front in search of goal number four. Despite his best efforts it was not to be but the Pumas still ended the season with a win.

Wilmslow Sports JFC Pumas U14 2 v South Manchester U14 1
With the season coming to a close the Pumas welcomed back Man of the Match Ethan Harding, who must have won the most headers of the season, and Tom Watts as for once the Boss had a bevy of talent to choose from.
Christian Dibble saved the day on numerous occasions when the defence was breached and was injured whilst trying to save the opening goal.
In the second half the Pumas demonstrated to their opponents how to play football. From a Dominic Moir throw in to Duncan Watmore the superb move involved Ryan Holmes and Rohan Longmore to Joe Bishop in the box who blasted the ball into the roof of the net.
Soon after this Ryan Wood crossed to Duncan Watmore, free of his marker, to head home a deserved winner for football and the game.
Christian Dibble and Ethan Harding withstood the onslaught from South Manchester to keep the ball away from goal. Jonathan Taylor then blocked a corner and ran three quarters of the length of the field unchallenged only to shoot over, with Ryan Holmes alongside unmarked. Once again a strong referee produced two yellow cards for South Manchester.
