Parkwyddn 0 v 2 Wilmslow colts
The Colts travelled to Eccles for a rare Sunday afternoon kick off on what was the coldest day of the year with a biting wind cut to the bone, it was so cold my pen froze & I had difficulty in holding my pad, so this is going to be short & sweet.
The Colts again started well, in the 3 rd minute James & Sammy made a chance for Charlie whose shot was well saved.
3 minutes late Ben put Sammy away down the right he beat the defender & crossed to Charlie who turned past the defender & clipped the ball over the keeper to put the Colts one up.
Parkwyddn were now under a lot of pressure but a long ball out of their defence put their forward clean through, Matt made up 10 meters to make a wonderful last gasp tackle.
The Clots were now playing some good football & Callum & Sammy had a shot each, both going close. On 16 minutes Andy pushed the ball out to left for Charlie , he cut inside & fired a thundering shot which had goal written all over it until the keeper manage some how to tip it round the post, for a corner.
On the 21 st minute Craig made a wonderful tackle & pass to Sammy in the middle of the pitch, Sammy beat his man & pushed the ball down the middle of the Parkwyddn defence were Charlie collected the it & ran passed the last 2 defenders before smashing home his second goal of the game, 2-0 to the Colts, the score stayed that way until halftime.
The second half was end to end stuff with both Keeper making some good saves & Charlie came very close at the end to completing his hat-trick but his shot slipped just past the post.
There were some good performances from James & Sammy but Craig was in total control & seemed to be at the heart of everything which earned him the Man of match from their manager
